FSANZ finalizes mandate of iodized salt use in New Zealand bread |

As promised, the Food Standards Agency for Australia and New Zealand has issued its decision requiring that breads baked in New Zealand use iodized salt.� FSANZ will continue to deliberate on whether similar requirements should be imposed in Australia. The 268-page assessment report contains lots of useful information. The announcement drew public notice which will aid education efforts in New Zealand promoting the importance of iodine nutrition.
