Iodized salt key to success in Kashmir

Noted endocrinologist and Director SK Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar, Kashmir, India, Dr A H Zargar has publicly credited the large scale consumption of iodized salt in Kashmir as one of the reasons of the decrease in occurrence of Iodine Deficiency Disorders. Zargar declared: “By and large the problem of thyroid disease is under control in Kashmir as people now refrain from using non-iodized salt.”
