The new IDD Newsletter features reports from UNICEF and WHO as well as country reports from Cameroon, India, the US, Thailand, the Congo and China.

In 1990, UNICEF convened a World Summit for Children and launched its major campaign against IDD.  Thirty-four countries have reached their goals for universal salt iodization, but 38 million newborns each year are not protected from iodine deficiency, UNICEF reports.

The World Health Organization reports on progress since 2003.
